1st day of Kindergarten

Today is Tiffany's first day of kindergarten! I can't believe she is starting school already!! She is sooo excited and can't wait to start school! Mom on the other hand is a little nervous for her but I am sure she will do great!

Tiffany and her buddy Camden are in afternoon kindergarten together but in different classes.

They are so excited to get started!

Tiffany did great on her first day of school! I didn't cry when we dropped of the kids but once I got home I was a little sad, mostly because I was worried about how Tiff was doing at school. But she was brave and had a lot of fun and of course love recess the best!

Today is the last day of summer break :( School starts tomorrow!!! We got a waterslide off of craigslist. So far Tiffany & Blake love it!

Happy Birthday to me! Brandon had to work today so it was me and the kiddos and my bday present....a new lens for my camera! I love it!! How cool are these pictures?! The lens blurs out the backround!!

Yesterday Tiffany wanted to build a fort, so Dad and Tiffany set to it. They had a great time building it! They built it around the tv in the upstairs loft and this morning they decided to watch a movie together!

Today I got a early bday present and went to a photography class. I love my camera but I really wanted to learn how to use it without the setting on manual. I went with a friend and we had a great time!

Today we went over to the Daniels to go swimming!! These boys are too funny! And the boys are all really great swimmers! Ethan was a goofball jumping off the waterfall!

Today is the last day of swimming lessons. Tiffany has done such a great job! She can swim with her head underwater and can go pretty far! We are super proud of her!!

We got a package the other day and Tiffany spent some time coloring the box. Then she played and played in it!! Her favorite thing to do is hide in the box and make us "find" her. Good stuff. She has spent sooooo much time in this box! Dad loves going and finding her!

Peach Festival!

One of my favorite things in May is the peach festival at Schnepf Farms! The last several years we have gone and picked peaches! You just pick them right off of the tree and can take a bite! So good!! This year we stopped into the bakery and got a peach cinnamon roll. Of course Tiffany was in heaven!

Blake just keeps growing and growing!! He keeps scratching his forehead when he is sleeping so I have started putting socks on his hands at night! I can't believe how fast he is growing! We just love him so much!

We had some rain this weekend and it made for a lovely puddle outside. Tiffany wanted to play outside which turned into jumping in the big dirty puddle. She was having so much fun I just let her have at it!

Then some how she convinced me to go down to the park and play in the huge "puddle" and once again I just said ok have at it!

She ran all over the place!

She had a blast and was soaked! We went straight home and took a bath!!

Baby Kate is here!!! We are soo excited!! I got the text from Eric that she was here and I was so excited! After our fun lunch with the Kingcannons Eric said we could come on down. I was ecstatic! So we rushed down to the hospital to see our new little niece. It was kinda weird being back in the same hospital we had Blake in and not being a patient :)

Our friend Kristin had some passes to go to the children's museum so we went for spring break. Can you believe I have never taken Tiffany there before??! We all had so much fun!

My poor kid just can't catch a break :( Today we got up early to go to church and Tiffany was acting a little different but mostly just calm and sitting on dads lap. Well all of the sudden Brandon said are you ok Tiff? and she just started throwing up!! I grabbed one of Blakes little blankets and that wasn't enough so I grabbed another one and Brandon quickly got up and went to the bathroom. So needless to say we left church and went home. We put in Despicable me and then everyone but me fell asleep!!

So we moved last week into a house in the same neighborhood. Today we were getting Blakes room put together and Tiffany didn't want Blake to be lonely in his crib!

Today was a great day!

First Tiffany decided that she needed to pull out all of the presents that were under the tree and arrange them in a line. This was just one of many different lines!

Blake slept for most of the present re-arranging!
Then it was time to leave for the mall. The goal was to take both kids to see Santa (we waited until Blake was born so we could have them both in the picture!) but Tiffany has been saying that she doesn't want to see santa. She was excited to go to the Disney store and the playground at the park. We also bribed her with going to build-a-bear after they saw Santa.
This is what she decided to wear!! Love the outfit :)

While we waited in line for santa it started "snowing" and Tiff had fun playing in it.

Santa time!!! Tiffany was not having it...she kept trying to hide behind me and it took forever to get her that close to santa and of course by then Blake was so over it so her is the picture I have been waiting for lol! (and yes Tiffany is sitting on my knee and I am bending out of the picture!)

Brandon and I got to the hospital nice and early this morning to be with Blake (thanks aunt Jenn for taking Tiffany for the day!) They tested his blood and it was a good level but they wanted to wait 6 hours and make sure the levels didn't go up so we hung out at the hospital for a while :)

Finally this afternoon he was cleared to go home!!!

This morning they tested Blakes blood and it was still high for jaundice so they said they wanted to keep him and put him on the billiruben lights. We were bummed out but want to do what ever it takes to have Blake be healthy. What really stinks is that they want him on the lights for at least 24 hours and my insurance only covered me for 2 nights so I don't get to stay in the hospital tonight. Good news is I got to go to Tiffanys school program!

Day 2!

The first night was a good night. So far Blake is a good sleeper. He eats and then sleeps and then repeat :)

After school Dad and Tiffany came back. Lets just say that Daddy doesn't have to do Tiffany's hair very often. We weren't sure how she would be with Blake but she wanted to hold him. She did really good for her first time.

We thought we were going home tonight but they think Blake has juandice so they want us to stay another night and re-check him in the morning.

He's finally here!

Today is the day!!! Blake Austin Shipley was born at 2:23pm 8 pounds 14 oz! I couldn't have been happier with how the birth went.

We came in at 5am to be induced. First they had to put in my IV, which turned out to be a little problem because I guess I have a lot of valves in my veins and they had to "try" several times before they got a good vein. Actually that was the worst of the whole birth!!! I will gladly take that as being the worst! Then they took a while to start the pitocin because Blakes heart rate kept dropping and they had me lay on my side and it regulated and they started the pit.

Around 8:30 Dr. Layton came in and broke my water. I was still only at 3 cm. After he broke my water I immediately asked for the epidural. I figure...I'm gonna get one why wait?! So shortly after I got the epidural. Heaven :) It was so cool actually because I couldn't feel the pain anymore but I could still move and feel my legs. I guess they have some new medicine that they use so that you can still feel a little that way you can feel the pressure when its time to push.

Not much happened after that for a while and Dr. Layton came back around 1:45 and checked me and I was at a 5. The nurse told me to lay on my left side. With in 5 minutes I started feeling a ton of pressure and I told the nurse. She said ok thats a good sign. And another 5 minutes went by and I said Ok I feel A LOT of pressure and the nurse said ok lets check you then. Well she checked me and said "whoa you are complete! Lets see how you push?" I went from a 5 to a 10 in 10 minutes! So on the next contraction she told me to push, and before I could even finish she said ok ok stop!! We need to get your Dr here asap! Thankfully Dr Layton hadn't left yet and he was there with in a couple minutes. I pushed for 2 contractions and on the 3rd contraction the Dr said ok don't push just squeeze your stomach muscles and with those squeezes out came Blake!! They put him on my stomach and Brandon got to cut the cord. It all happened soo fast!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience!!

It was nice having everyone come and see Blake but I was glad at the end of the day to just take a minute and look at our new little guy. We are so glad he is here and we are so in love with him :)

Today Tiffany had a little dance recital. She did the Conga. Right before the recital started she got hurt and decided she didn't want to dance. I had to go back stage and bribe her to go dance. Brandon was able video tape it but not take any pictures of her dancing so her is a pic of her after :) She did a great job!!

Frosting the Snowman

So we started listening to Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving. Tiffany loves the song Frosty the snowman. She informed me that I was saying it wrong, that it is called Frosting the snowman. I have tried and tried to tell her that it isn't frosting that it is frosty but there is no convincing this kid!! Lol so thats how she sings it!

Every year we decorate the tree on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Tiff was so excited to decorate! She loved pulling out all of the ornaments and putting them on the tree. They all ended up on the lower half of the tree and Brandon had to go and redistribute them! Tiff had a blast!!

Today was the feast at pre-school. Tiff has known about it for a while and she decided she didn't want to go because her teacher said she would have to try the food. I am glad the teacher said that she would have to eat!! Anyway today came and she was excited about going to school. She actually tried some mashed potatoes!! Then they did some crafts. They do such fun stuff for the holidays!

I love the pilgrim hat and turkey! On each of the feathers it says something that she is thankful for:

Tiffany doesn't seem to like to sleep. She doesn't ever want to go to bed and she always wakes up early. For a while there she was waking up at 5 am!! We finally got her to stay in her room until 6 or we will take away one of her princess squishy dolls. What we really want is for her to get up at 7 so we tried bribing her! She loves the princess polly pocket dolls and we have most of them but don't have the Tiana one. So we bought it and told her when she sleeps till 7 she would get it.

Lets just say it has been in the closet for a while now!! Well this morning Brandon and I woke up at 6:30 and she still hadn't come in our room yet but there was a light on. I went and peeked in her room and there she was sitting in front of her clock waiting for it to turn 7.

She saw me and said mom go away I'm still sleeping. I said you are? She said "yes, I'm sleeping till 7!! I'm still in bed!" She was so stinking cute about it!! So Brandon and I let her wait until 7 and then we gave her the Tiana squishy dress!

State Fair!!

Today we went to the Fair with Bapa! We first stopped at the petting zoo. The animals love Bapa!

Next it was time for FOOD!! Today was a super cool day because they some specials going: $1 food, rides and games. So every food place had at least one item that was only a buck!! We got to try lots of different foods!! One of Tiffanys favorites was the funnel cake! It was yummy!

Time for deep fried food!! We tried deep fried Oreos and Snickers. Both good but Oreos were better.

Tiffany had absolutely no desire to trick or treat but she had a blast passing out candy!! We had a lot of kids come trick or treating so Dad and Tiff hung outside for a while. She decided to dress up like Tinkerbell for passing out candy!

We didn't stay too long because there were some trunks that were decorated scary and Tiff wouldn't go around. Since she doesn't care about the candy there isn't much incentive for her so we didn't make her. We had a good time while we were there though :)

So we finally got some time to carve pumpkins! Tiffany was really excited to do her own pumpkin. She drew the picture on the pumpkin and then she cut out the shapes with our help.

She did a really good job on hers!
We had a fourth pumpkin (because I LOVE cooking the seeds!!) so I just quickly cut out a face and then Tiffany decorated it!

The finished products!! I tried to be artistic and did an Ariel face, I think it turned out ok :)

Later on we went to the trunk or treat at church. Tiff had fun hanging out with some friends!

Halloween party at preschool!!

Today is the big Halloween party at school!! Any guesses as to what Tiffany went as???? Ariel?? Yup you are right!!

Her class singing at the beginning of school. Tiffany just LOVES going to school and loves her teacher and the other kids. After singing they played some games, colored some pictures and decorated a Halloween bag.
They sang a super cute pumpkin song.

Then they went outside and picked up candy. After that they play the "freeze game." Tiffany talks a lot about the freeze game and basically its when the music is on they dance and when it stops they have to freeze. Tiff had a BLAST playing!! Just look at that face!

Her is the whole class and Mrs. Olsen! (Tiff has a crush on Harry Potter)

I'm so glad I got to go and help out at the Halloween party! Tiff loves going to preschool and Mrs. Olsen does a great job with all of the kids!

Tiffany asked for a smoothie this morning so we made one. She is so hit and miss with it, half the time she won't drink any of it after we make it. Well today she finished it along with all 8 of her straws!! She came and showed me that she added 5 straws to her cup and I said Tiffany what are you doing with 8 straws?!?! So she then realized she didn't really have 8 and went and added 2 more. Such a goober!
